I would normally be worried about a book i love being “adapted” but there are reasons to be hopeful here.
1. John Hillcoat. The director of The Proposition(which to anyone who has not seen it, i urge you to go out and rent post-haste). If he can capture the post-apoclyptic landscape the way he captured Australia, he will be halfway to a great movie.
2. Casting. Viggo as the father, Robert Duvall, Guy Pearce and Charlize Theron. All excellant actors.
3. Cormac McCarthy is heavily involved.
